Supernatural: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One
4. Jack Kline
It can't be denied that out of all the characters introduced in Supernatural over the years, hardly any proved to be as crucial to the overarching plot as Jack Kline. Making his first onscreen appearance in the final moments of Season Twelve, after quite a bit of build-up, Jack was the child of Lucifer and the human Kelly Kline.
After being sired early in Season Twelve, much was made of this unborn child being a thing of evil and immense power that would have to be destroyed. However, by the time Jack was born, fully grown, it was clear that things weren't so simple. Jack appeared to be a curious and good-natured boy, fascinated by the world around him and always seeking understanding. In time the Winchesters came to realise this and took him in like a brother, with Castiel becoming his surrogate father. It was heart-warming to watch him bond with the boys, especially Dean.
There were some difficult times though, as Jack's naivete and good intentions weren't always a good combination with his vast and uncontrolled power. Despite these mistakes though, he only ever wanted to help people and to find his place within his adoptive family. In the end of course, Jack found his place when he helped defeat Chuck by absorbing his powers and becoming the new God. Still the kind and caring boy he'd always been, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better candidate for the job. It was a beautiful ending for our favourite Nephilim.
