Supernatural: 10 Most Cringeworthy Moments
4. No, Not The Fingernail!
It's time for a little departure now. While it's easy to pick on the sillier moments throughout this series, it would be unfair not to reference some of the times it made you cringe on purpose. If there's one thing it did well in that regard, it was with the gore factor.
There are plenty of cringeworthy moments made up of body horror and pain, with some great examples including Isaac chugging drain cleaner ("The Magnificent Seven"), the infamous hand in a blender scene ("After School Special") and more. But this one worked hard to get you recoiling in your seat.
During the episode "A Very Supernatural Christmas", Dean and Sam found themselves at the mercy of two pagan gods, The Carrigans. After tying the brothers up, this dastardly flesh-eating duo began a ritual, starting by slicing The Winchesters' wrists. But the fun didn't stop there.
To take it to the next level, Edward Carrigan tore off one of Sam's fingernails. It was depicted in agonising detail causing viewers to clutch their fingers in horror. That's one hell of a way to set someone's cringe alarms off.
