Supernatural: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
1. Season Four
Season four is peak Supernatural. It has everything and then some, from the emotive plot twists, creepy adversaries, complex mysteries and engaging characters. But season four takes the cake for a lot more than its brilliant grasp of the show's themes and characters. It was here that the show really found its legs, and upped the drama exponentially by bringing the idea of Hell and Heaven into the story, boosting the show's potential like never before.
Season four also introduced Castiel, brought Dean back from the dead (when it was still a big deal to see a resurrection play out) and changed the formula of the show without forcing it or making it feel tacky. Every plot thread feels perfectly placed, every character interaction necessary and well-crafted, and even with a couple so-so stand-alone episodes, its strengths cannot be dragged down.
In a show of great seasons, season four is the best chapter for the Winchester Brothers, and deserves to be seen over and over again.
