The best of the pack.

Running between 2011 and 2017, Teen Wolf aired one hundred episodes over six seasons and sat at the top of the supernatural drama genre. With its iconic characters, terrifying bad guys, teenage angst and intense action sequences, it had a good run and achieved great success with audiences and critics alike.

Often touching on themes such as mental health, relationships and morality with effective results, it's easy to see the show's appeal.

Throughout the series, there have been numerous brilliant characters. In a show populated by werewolves, werecoyotes, banshees and the odd human, most of the characters are compelling creations with great story arcs, iconic dialogue, and passionate actors bringing them to life.

This list is going to look at the best of the main characters, so major recurring players such as Isaac Lahey, Alan Deaton, Gerard Argent and Jordan Parrish, whilst all fantastic characters in their own right, won't be included.

Whether a werewolf, a werewolf hunter, the world's most unlucky sheriff or a sarcastic teen just trying to keep his friends out of trouble, here are the main characters of Teen Wolf, ranked, with major spoilers throughout.

12. Kira Yukimora (Arden Cho)

Before getting properly into the list, it should be noted that none of Teen Wolf's main players are bad characters. Far from it, in fact. But the problem with Kira is clear from the outset: the writers forgot what to do with her.

Debuting in the second half of season three, she proved to be an amazing addition to the core group. She was great with a sword, her relationship with Scott was sweet, and she was responsible for adding another layer of mythology to the show's overarching plot, building up the world around Scott and his pack.

This was mostly kept up in season four, where her relationship with Scott is at an all-time high and she was forced to deal with the violent spirit within her.

By season five, everything began to fall apart. As the Dread Doctors launched their attack on the teenagers of Beacon Hills, Kira found herself sidelined from the main action, still struggling with her spirit form and playing no real role in the story. Eventually, the writers removed her from the show for a few episodes, and only brought her back for one last stand against the enemy she had barely seen.

In the end, Kira became an underused character, despite all the potential she had and the charming performance of Arden Cho, and ended up being rather forgettable by the end of her arc.
