The 10 Best Acted Scenes Of Game Of Thrones Season 8

9. Sam Learns Of His Family’s Fate

Game Of Thrones Jorah Daenerys
HBO

Another incredibly awkward scene, the audience’s skin crawls as Sam goes from gushing over Daenerys to being told that she burned his father and brother to a crisp.

The epitome of puppy dog sadness, John Bradley does a wonderful job at portraying the most heartbreaking grief imaginable all while trying to hold it in so as to not appear disloyal to the queen he so admired not thirty seconds before.

He attempts to smile away his tears as his lower lip quivers. He thanks a stone-faced Daenerys and storms out of the room with glistening eyes, and in such a short scene Bradley perfectly conveys everything Sam feels in this moment.

In the face of ultimate power, all Sam can do is smile and thank the woman who wiped out his family. And it’s incredibly moving.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
