The Bad Batch: 10 Things We Learned From The Trailer

In The Bad Batch's sizzle reel, we get a good look at a new cool variant of Clone Trooper that are rumoured to be Covert Ops Clone Troopers, tasked with hunting down Clones that deserted following Order 66. This raises some interesting questions.

We know that Commander Rex managed to disable his inhibitor chip thanks to Ahsoka Tano, and in Star Wars Rebels we also see former Clone troopers Commander Wolf (who had previously served under Plo Koon) and ex-Clone Commando Gregor, although whether they deserted or partook in Order 66 remains unclear.

So how many Clones deserted, given that they all had chips that programmed them to follow orders? It could be that these Covert Ops troopers are an early iteration of the Purge Troopers that we have seen in the Darth Vader comic series and in Jedi Fallen Order. At the very least, we know that they will be brought in to be seen with the Bad Batch.

What's more intriguing, is that it is rumoured that the clone leading the task force is Commander Cody and that they will also appear in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi live-action series.
