Wil's fourth appearance on the show managed to reshape his character considerably, moving from Sheldon's enemy into the role of his best friend. Again, this was largely one-sided, but it managed to plant a seed that would see Wheaton return somewhat regularly throughout the series' run.

In "The Russian Rocket Reaction," The guys are at the comic book store when Wheaton arrives to purchase a rare Batman comic. He invites them to a party, which includes other Star Trek actors. Leonard happily accepts, but Sheldon walks out on his nemesis, as he's not the forgiving type.

Leonard and Raj end up heading to Wil's party without Sheldon, who couldn't be persuaded despite the fact that Brent Spiner would be there. Ultimately, he does show up, and when he arrives, Wil comes up and apologizes to him for skipping the convention years before, which established Sheldon's hatred for Wil.

He hands him his very last Ensign Crusher figurine, which he signed, and Sheldon instantly relents, declaring that Wil is now officially his friend. Just when everything looks like it's going to end well, Brent Spiner snatches the action figure and pulls it out of the packaging, enraging Sheldon, and landing him on his "list."
