"The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary" establishes what has to be one of the strangest rivalries on television. In the episode, Sheldon reveals that he hates Wil Wheaton when learns that the actor signed up for an upcoming Mystic Warlords of Ka'a tournament.

Sheldon explains that he idolized Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation because they both had an eidetic memory, but everything changed in 1995. That's when he rode a bus for 10 hours to a sci-fi convention in Jackson, Mississippi to meet the actor who played his favorite character.

He wore his Starfleet Cadet uniform and wanted Wheaton to sign his mint, in-package Wesley Crusher action figure, but Wil didn't appear. This led to Sheldon's pledge of eternal hatred for the actor, so he teamed up with Raj to take him on in the tournament.

Sheldon confronts his nemesis, quoting Wrath of Khan. He explains why he hates him so much, so Wil explains that he missed the convention to attend his grandmother's funeral. This causes Sheldon to relent, but it was all a ruse. Will beats Sheldon and cements their rivalry as Sheldon yells "WHEEEAAAAAATTTTTTOOOONNNNNNNN" while the camera pans out to a global shot of the Earth.
