The Big Bang Theory: 10 Best Wil Wheaton Episodes
2. "The Bow Tie Asymmetry"
Wil's role in "The Bow Tie Asymmetry" is a bit of a ding on the actor, though one could hardly blame Sheldon for what happens. This episode features the wedding of Sheldon and Amy, so it was a big deal for fans of the show and Wil Wheaton fans.
Amy manages to get Wil to agree to officiate their wedding, which is a treat for Sheldon, as he considers him to be one of his best friends. Everything progresses towards this end as the episode moves toward the ceremony, but through some sitcom-only logic, Mark Hamill ends up owing Howard a favor.
Of course, he asks if he can come to the wedding as a treat for Sheldon, and he ends up replacing Wil Wheaton as the officiate. Wil approaches his replacement, saying, "So, we finally meet," but the man who played Luke Skywalker didn't know who Wil was.
This ends up bumming Wil out pretty hard, as he stayed up the whole night, working on the ceremony. Much of the rest of the episode centers on people asking Hamill as many Star Wars questions as they can think of before the wedding finally commences.
