The Big Bang Theory: 10 Questions That Still Need Answering

6. How Do The Professor Proton Dreams Work?

Okay, so not everything has to make perfect sense, particularly in the dream world, but how do the Professor Proton 'ghost' dreams actually work? Bob Newhart wanted a recurring role, and he's certainly got it, with Proton turning up every so often to offer Sheldon advice, despite the disadvantage that he is in fact dead. But how does that even work? Proton explains things rationally to Sheldon, and gives him information that Sheldon simply wouldn't be able to compute. If he is all part of Sheldon's subconscious, how can Proton give him details about his life? Entire storylines change because of Proton's messages to Sheldon, when in reality, all he is doing is sleeping. It doesn't add up, and it'll probably stay a mystery how it all works.
