The Big Bang Theory: 10 Reasons Amy & Sheldon Should Break Up

6. Amy Has Grown

She began on the Big Bang Theory as an isolated young woman. She now has a wide friendship group and is verging on learning the importance of personal boundaries. She has a bizarre infatuation with Penny, she has a group of friends and a support system away from her family. She is no longer simply a female Sheldon, she has her own personality and her own ambitions. She displays emotions to a greater degree than she began with, and she shows that she truly cares about Sheldon. This unreciprocated love has meant that she is now her own character, not a tag along for Sheldon. This character growth means that she is truly capable of holding her own in the show. Shouldn€™t this chance be taken? Unlike the growth in Sheldon€™s character, Amy has gotten funnier through this development. The romance was necessary to develop her character, but it is time that she stood on her own now.
