The Big Bang Theory: 10 Reasons Sheldon Cooper Should Be Killed Off

5. Amy Deserves Better

Strip away the sitcom context of their relationship and you€™ll find Shamey to be one of the most depressing love stories in the history of television. She's lacking in experience/confidence with romantic situations, and therefore latches onto Sheldon like a lost puppy. He's oblivious to any notion of romance (at least at the beginning of their relationship) and his treatment of her is basically abusive. Of course, it's unlikely Amy will ever leave Sheldon - her lack of male experience means that no matter how Sheldon treats her, she doesn€™t have anything/anyone to compare it with. Think of when Leonard, Sheldon, Amy and Penny play musical living arrangements when the former pair have a falling out - It takes two years for Amy to spend some very intimate time with Sheldon, and he still rejects her. Granted this is because it upsets Sheldon€™s routine, but c€™mon Amy, you€™re not a Howard. There€™s plenty of other guys out there who€™d sweep you off your feet, even if that would probably mean having to remove Sheldon from your life - permanently.
