The Big Bang Theory: 5 Never Before Seen Plotlines Chuck Lorre Must Explore Next

3. Howard's Father Issues/Mothers Anonymity

Howard Howard is perhaps one of the oddest characters of all the odd-balls in the Big Bang Theory, which is really speaking volumes. His sexist attitude toward women and behaviour toward Penny in earlier episodes of the series lead to him being dubbed as a "skeev" and largely ignored by her. However, in "The Precious Fragmentation" episode of season 3, a lot of his behavioural issues are pinpointed as being the result of his long-standing father issues. His dad abandoned the family when Howard was young leaving him with a void in his life and lack of a father figure to keep him on the straight and narrow. Howard is the only character in the series who hasn't had a parental figure appear on screen, though his overbearing mother can often be heard yelling at him off screen. Considering Penny, Leonard, Sheldon and Raj have all had family members appear in various episodes, we believe it is high time that the show's writers either feature his father in an episode or two or at least reveal the appearance of his off-screen mother.
