5. Amy Farrah Fowler: Scene Stealer And Emmy Nominee
Several seasons ago, way back in 2008, the guys on The Big Bang Theory were discussing who to add to their Physics Bowl team, and one suggested TV's Blossom. And while, at the time, this was laughed off as a harmless joke, who knew that just over a year later Mayim Balik, TV's Blossom herself, would debut as Amy Farrah Fowler on the show, and go on to become the great scene-stealer that she now is. During the time since her debut as an online dating match for Sheldon, she has gone on to develop a romantic relationship with Mr. Cooper ("oh, the horror!"), as well as build a best friend relationship with Kaley Cuoco's Penny. To date, Amy has taken over the show's bankable comedic relief from Simon Helberg's Howard Wolowitz, and Balik has now earned herself an Emmy nomination for her fantastic work. In Season 7, look for Amy to continue to press Sheldon to move their relationship forward. Sheldon will obviously hesitate against her advances, and their dance will probably go on for the majority of the season. There's also talk of the writers exploring her character's not-yet-developed friendship with Bernadette as well, and that should make for some great comedy for both characters who are so similar in many ways (female scientists!), and radically different in others (one's married, on wants to be a bride!). Look for Amy Farrah Fowler to continue her scene stealing ways, and let's hope Mayim Balik can score that well deserved Emmy award for her performance throughout the recent Season 6 run of episodes.
