4. Penny: Lost In The Shuffle
Poor old reliable Penny: she has been lost in the proverbial shuffle these past few seasons. What with her pseudo-sleeping with Raj, to not being able to tell Leonard she really loves him, Kaley Cuoco and her Penny character have not really been given a fair shake as of late. Much like the fictional Penny character itself on the show (career stagnation), there just hasn't been great writing for Penny to really get ahead in recent seasons. Hopefully this is all ready for a big change as Penny deserves better. Penny deserves a career boost, a big break to get her on track and away from The Cheesecake Factory. With Leonard off on a global research trip, Penny will get some quality time with Sheldon on her own, but what she really needs is to break out professionally on her own. This will not only mark a turning point for her character, but it will provide some much needed and very different tension for her relationship with Leonard. Like a fish out of water, Leonard would not know how to handle Penny's success, should it come this season, and again this will provide for some great comedy, and push Penny in the right direction after several seasons of character stagnation. But what of the bit players, you ask?....
