The Big Bang Theory has been proven to be one of the most binge worthy sitcoms of all the time. Having many parallels with the legendary series Friends, one might say that some characters and story developments were inspired by the Manhattan gang routine. We, on the other hand, are keen to believe that the BBT is mainly energised by physics, science fiction and mega minds of the century.
However, as the majority of fans constantly compare the on and off relationship that Ross and Rachel had to the one of Leonard and Penny, we decided to do a research of our own. While the romance development of the mentioned couples progressed in slow motion, in the case of BBT we witnessed Leonard and Penny marry... twice!
What the audience missed is that in fact Penny in the position of a wife reminds another beloved character of the Central Perk sextet, Monica Geller. Bossy (not a pushover like Rachel) and sarcastic when it comes to their loved ones. Both Leonard and Chandler were a little afraid of their wives. While Rachel is too vanilla to cut a fish, we are pretty positive that Monica could handle fishing as Penny did in The Fish Guts Displacement.
