Rajesh Koothrappali is an astrophysicist whose main problem was his inability to talk to women.

Thanks to his selective mutism, Raj struggles to have any conversation woman outside his family. When he realises he can if he has an alcoholic drink he can do it, things begin to change. The trouble is, Raj isn't always the most pleasant person to be around when he's had a drink.

A bad break up causes Penny to come and console him, when he suddenly discovers he can talk to her without any beverages. Suddenly a world of dating begins to open up to Raj and life changes for the better.
