It's a date forever etched in the minds of television fans, as The Big Bang Theory aired its debut episode, beginning a legacy that would span twelve years, a spinoff, and an endless amount of prestigious awards that including being named a four-time Emmy winner for Outstanding Comedy Series.
The brainchild of Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, TBBT has provided fans and critics alike with debate after debate after debate. Is The Big Bang Theory actually a good show? Did it go on for too long? Who's the real best character, and why is it secretly Amy? Either way, there's no debating the success of the show.
Every great sitcom, however, must start somewhere. For The Big Bang Theory, that meant a season rife of cleaning your neighbour's apartments, kicking your friends off a quiz team and giving them a Batman cookie jar in return, and splitting an extra dumpling between three people when the fourth friend is offering his own dumplings to a friend's supposed cousin.
A lot went down in TBBT's debut season, but there wasn't much storyline progression, other than the guys beginning to eat out at the Cheesecake Factory more often. Still, there's a lot to unpack, so the question is, how much can you remember?
