Boba Fett director and producer, Dave Filioni, once said, "Something you notice about George Lucas after a while is that he'll mention a name like 'Mace Windu' in a 1973 version of Star Wars, and then it pops up in 1999." Filioni's observation is clear - If something in Star Wars is seemingly discarded, that doesn't mean it can't be repurposed many, many years later.

The Book of Boba Fett proves this philosophy since it incorporates characters who were supposed to appear in A New Hope. In the original Star Wars, there was meant to be a scene where Luke visits Tosche Station to see his friend, Biggs Darklighter. While passing by, he sees his childhood friends, Camie and Laze.

Even though this sequence was scrapped, it was not forgotten. In The Book of Boba Fett, the titular character tracks down the Swoop Gang at Tosche Station. Before he arrives, the bikers rough up two locals. Although their names are not mentioned, this couple is Camie and Laze. (They're even clothed in the same garments they wore in A New Hope.)

This was an awesome Easter egg since many fans believed these characters would never be incorporated into Star Wars lore.
