The Book Of Boba Fett: 10 Things You Missed

6. Sing Like A Yuzzum - Chapter 4

There are all sorts of colourful expressions in the Star Wars universe, many which are based on real-world sayings. "Another kettle of Giju." "Bantha fodder." "Scruffy, little nerfherder." More often than not, fans don't give these remarks a second thought (except the nerfherder one, because we still don't know what a nerf is).

However, there is one expression in The Book of Boba Fett that's worth mentioning. After Boba captures the majordomo, he orders Fennec Shand to question him. When he asks his henchwoman if he's cooperating, Fennec says "he is singing like a Yuzzum". To many, Fennec's remark sounds like the Star Wars version for "singing like a canary" and nothing more.

However, this comment is a reference to Return of the Jedi, or more accurately, the Special Edition version. In the film's opening, Jabba is being entertained by a band, with a Yuzzum called Joh Yowza serving as one of the singers. Since Boba Fett was looking directly at Joh during his singing number, he would have understood Fennec's comment immediately.

Of course, since Joh's song is universally reviled by fans, most people didn't appreciate this callback and instead, were traumatised upon reliving this jarring scene.
