The Boys: 10 Goriest Moments So Far
7. He's Not Translucent On The Inside!
This was the first scene that proved Hughie wasn't messing around, and it was perfect. Seeing this character go from a timid and passive civilian on this journey to an active killer was astonishing. It was all complemented by the outlandish amount of gore created.
After being captured by The Boys, Frenchie and Bill try to think of ways to kill the famous superhero Translucent, and in the end, they settle for shoving a bomb inside him through unthinkable places. This "Ass bomb" is seen as the best way to do it, as his impenetrable surface is like a tortoiseshell, hard on the outside, but soft on the inside.
By this point, it was clear Hughie was in over his head with these people, and Translucent decided to use this to his advantage. He managed to convince Hughie to let him out of his cage, and began to walk away, but in a fit of rage, Hughie took agency in the scenario and blew him sky-high from the inside out.
The blood splatter on display here was glorious, and seeing the protagonist covered in the arrogant hero's blood was strangely cathartic, albeit disgusting.
