9. Stormfront References And Clever Names
Stormfront burst onto the scene in the show's second season premiere, added to the Seven as a replacement for Translucent. Confident, opinionated and increasingly cruel, it soon came to light that was a hundred year old Nazi who was using her platform to spread her racist views and cause some kind of civil war.
Her name is one of the most subtle parts of her identity, as Stormfront is also the name of a controversial and infamous neo-Nazi networking site which pushes ideas of Holocaust denial and antisemitism. Stormfront is also the name of an album by Billy Joel, who is protagonist Hughie's favourite musician.
Stormfront isn't the only one to get a clever name, however. Hughie's girlfriend Robin Ward is named after Batman's sidekick Robin and actor Burt Ward, who played the character alongside Adam West. Also, Starlight's costume designer is based off The Incredibles' Edna Mode.
