The Boys: 10 Things Only True Fans Know About Homelander
7. His Connection With Black Noir
Because of Homelander's utter disregard for humanity, Vought-American would be stupid not to have a failsafe to eliminate him incase he turned against them.
But how do you stop a Supe who can crush a diamond with his pinky or move at Mach 10? Simple. You stop Homelander... with another Homelander.
Vought-American cloned the leader of The Seven and had this doppelgänger pose as another team member, Black Noir. Because he never took off his mask or spoke, Homelander was oblivious of Noir's true identity or intentions during his tenure on the team. When Homelander predictably turned on his creators, Noir did what he was born to do and killed him. However, he was left so badly injured during the battle, Butcher was easily able to finish him off.
Although the character is in the Amazon adaptation of The Boys, his backstory has been tweaked so he is no longer Homelander's clone. This was a good decision since it proves the series isn't following the source material to the letter, so even die-hard comic fans don't have a clue how exactly The Boys intend to kill Homelander.
