The Boys: 10 Things Only True Fans Know About Homelander
4. He Didn't Rape Butcher's Wife In In The Comics
Even though Butcher's life was filled with a lot of heartache, he felt like things turned around for better when he met Becky Saunders. He fell in love with her almost instantly and got married soon after.
Unfortunately, it was too good to last. Several months after being raped by a Supe, Becky's superpowered foetus prematurely ripped itself out of her body, killing her. Because the baby had the same power-set as Homelander, Butcher naturally assumed the iconic Supe violated his wife. It was this tragedy that inspired Butcher to get The Boys back together and take down Vought-American.
Although this premise is the same in the TV series, we learn at the end of Season 1 that Becky survived the birth of her child and lived in seclusion with her son for years.
However, there is one other big difference - in the comic, it was Black Noir who raped Becky, not Homelander. For the longest time, Homelander had no idea why Butcher had a vendetta against him, since he was clueless of Noir's actions against Becky or Butcher's relationship with her.
