The Boys: 10 Things Only True Fans Know About Homelander

5. His Introduction In The Comics Is Very Different

One of the most infamous moments in Amazon's The Boys is when The Deep demands a sexual favour from Starlight immediately after she's invited to join The Seven. It was in this moment when viewers realised just how brazenly corrupt the superhero community is.

But in the comic, it wasn't The Deep who forced himself upon Starlight - it was Homelander. The Boys #3 issue kicks off with Starlight being greeted by Homelander as she arrives in The Seven's headquarters. He informs her that she will become an official member of the group if she completes 'one final test'. He then drops his pants and orders her to pleasure him.

When A-Train and Black Noir walk into the room, Starlight naturally assumes they will protect her from their deranged mentor. But as they unzip their trousers and order her to satisfy all three of them, only then does Starlight truly realise how shallow and demoralising the Supes are.

The TV show may have made it ambiguous at first whether or not Homelander was corrupt, but the comics let the readers know his true intentions straight away.
