The Boys: 10 Things Only True Fans Know About Homelander

3. The Jerking Off Scene Was Meant To Be In Season 1

Because of The Boys' creative take on the superhero genre and its on-point commentary on social injustices, the series became an instant must-see on Amazon. But what made this comic adaptation really stand out was its brutal violence and graphic sexual content.

Because the show is filled with exploding heads, imploding whales, and people being strangled by penises, you'd assume the production had complete freedom. But there were some scenes the producers said no to.

At the end of Season 2, we see Homelander jerking off on top of the Chrysler building while looking down at the city, exclaiming "I can do what I want." Because this comes (literally) immediately after his lover is dismembered, it feels like this shot's purpose is to convey Homelander's continuous descent into insanity.

However, this shot was meant to be used in Season 1 after one of his confrontations with Madelyn Stilwell. The producers decided not to use this scene, worried it was a little OTT. (For the record, these same producers were okay with a laser-blasting baby or Popclaw crushing someone's head with her butt.)
