1. Will Butcher Survive It?
In the comics, when Hughie is first introduced to Butcher. the entire Boys team are pumped full of Compound V to help level the playing field. In the show however, it took until season three for this to happen, and even then it was only temporary V, and it was only Hughie and Butcher.
After some investigation into Vought by Annie, the only genuinely good supe in the show, she discovered that if Butcher and Hughie kept taking the Temp-V they were on the clock. They may be levelling the playing field, but they were killing themselves at the same time.
Butcher, for once in his life, did the right thing and stopped Hughie from taking more. He however, had no regard for his own safety and was ultimately given a prognosis of 12-18 months to live at the most.
This will obviously play a big part in season four of The Boys, but just how much is impossible to say right now. Butcher could make a miraculous recovery in the very first episode, but with no season five currently announced, he could genuinely kick the bucket before the season is through.
