The Boys Season 3: 10 Reasons To Be Excited
9. Butcher And Homelander's Rivalry Is Growing
Considering Billy Butcher is just a mere mortal, he's proving himself to be one heck of a resilient and tactical threat to the godly Homelander.
The show has done a tremendous job in presenting the contrasting rivalry between the two, and while the second season did see the two stand-off once again, the fact that both of them walked away unscathed does suggest their showdown is still to come.
Butcher may have forgiven Ryan for the accidental death of Becca, but he most certainly hasn't forgotten about the Supe whose intervention and existence caused it all.
Likewise, Homelander has been bested a few times by Butcher now, and for a petty narcissist like him, he's not going to take defeat so easily - he's most likely never lost at anything in his life.
The escalating and long-standing feud between Butcher and Homelander is a very big part of The Boys comic series, and will no doubt be the series-long war between anti-hero and villain. With Homelander slowly going insane, and Butcher now backed by the CIA, we should expect the playing field to be even rockier in the third season.
