The Boys Season 3: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

13. Black Noir

Black Noir has always been the walking definition of an enigma. The silent, unseen assassin has always been loyally attached to Homelander's side, but his intentions and even the extent of his abilities won't explored until this season, when his tragic backstory finally came to light.

Revealed to be a psychologically disturbed man forced to shroud his face after his former boss Soldier Boy left him permanently disfigured -- even knocking out part of his brain -- Black Noir's origins are heart-wrenching to see, and hint that his story and impact on the series is only just beginning.

Unfortunately, that's where Black Noir slips down the rankings, because whilst he receives some of the season's most affecting dramatic scenes, he's poised to become something bigger before he's murdered by Homelander. It's a powerful death, but one that really shouldn't have happened so soon.

This is The Boys, so he may still be alive somehow, but even so, that finale put a dampener on Black Noir's otherwise stunning development.
