The Boys Season 3 Review: 8 Ups & 2 Downs
1. It's The Best Season Yet
Despite some brief writing flaws, The Boys' third instalment is unquestionably its best season yet.
Thanks to Kripke and his team's fantastic writing, the stunning work of its ensemble cast, and the brilliantly high stakes of the drama, the season captures everything that's made The Boys' such a hit perfectly, and throws a series of momentous new twists, characters, and rule changes into the mix for good measure.
The high bar its set proves yet again that the series is only getting better with time, and thanks to the cliffhangers it's left in place -- from Billy Butcher's impending death, young Ryan siding with Homelander, and Neuman preparing to take the role of Vice President -- season four has the potential to continue this trend.
There are few shows as daring and intelligent on TV at the moment, and The Boys seems to just be getting started. Now to eagerly await the new season, which should hopefully air in the summer of next year.
