6. Samantha Bee
But, then, the current crop of The Daily Show correspondents it's difficult to pick just one who should step up to hosting. Maybe just having somebody who will follow the example of Jon Stewart isn't what they want. Maybe they want something new. In which case, surely Samantha Bee would be ideal as a host? Her "Are You Prepared?!?" was a recurring segment, and even when she's not giving enlightening and very, very real advice about preparing for potential disasters, she's a mainstay of The Daily Show. When Stewart came down with the flu, Bee and fellow correspondent (and husband) Jason Jones filled in. Bee is the longest-running correspondent, surpassing even Stephen Colbert's record back. That said, she's one of the correspondents with the biggest character, meaning that bringing her down to Earth a little might spoil the magic.
