2. Luke Cage Has An Integral Role In Jessica Jones
While there were a few minor nods to Iron Fist in Daredevil, the series surprisingly didn't have any obvious references to him, Jessica Jones, or Luke Cage. Most of us expected that it would given Marvel's expert universe building skills and their tendency to sometimes go over the top with that (see: Iron Man 2). Regardless, AKA Jessica Jones will be taking a very different approach to that, with Luke set to play what sounds like an integral role. That makes sense given their comic book history, and comments from Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb definitely seem to indicate that the two will embark on a romantic relationship. However, he was quick to point out that Luke's involvement definitely isn't just to set up his series and that he'll be pivotal to Jessica's journey. "His purpose in the story is to help us understand who she is and what is happening to her," Loeb reveals, "and in that case Mike delivers on that and we get to see whats happening along the way. We dont really see it as a springboard as much as if you did not know there was going to be a Luke Cage show, theres a very compelling, interesting story about a character named Luke Cage who shes involved with." Given Luke's friendship and partnership with Iron Fist as part of Heroes For Hire, you have to wonder whether both of their respective shows will feature them teaming up on a regular basis! Either way, we're going to be getting to know Power Man very well later this year before his show launches in 2016.
