The Expanse: Ranking The Main Characters From Worst To Best
10. Alex Kamal
Always the least interesting member of the Rocinante crew, Alex was a Martian pilot who had been there from the beginning. Feeling incredible guilt for abandoning his wife and child back on Mars, Alex found comfort in continuously saving the galaxy with Holden and the others.
He has as much screen time as any of the four primary characters of the show which means he has experienced as many adventures and life threatening situations as the rest of them. That is the only reason he places as highly as he does as Alex's own personal drama is just no where near as engaging as everyone else's.
The elephant in the room concerning Cas Anvar's exit from the show doesn't affect his placement but the manner in which the character departs does. Alex dies from a blink-and-you'll-miss-it stroke that is handled in a very stoic and matter-of-fact way by the rest of the crew. A disappointing and underwhelming end for a character who had been on the show for so long.
