An overly persistent journalist who is always looking for her next story, Monica becomes entangled with James Holden and the crew of the Rocinante on more than one occasion. First, she finds herself as one of the initial humans to pass through the ring gate while making a documentary about the crew of the Roci, and later she gets on Marco Inaros' bad side when she goes looking for information on the Protomolecule.
Monica is often distrusted due to her tendency to put her story above anything else, but that doesn't mean she isn't often right. Her commitment to her work is one thing, but she accepts and understands the dangers of the Protomolecule in a way that is more similar to Holden than it is to Fred Johnson.
It is yet unclear if there will be any need for Monica Stuart is the final season of the Expanse but with the Protomolecule coming back into focus, it wouldn't be too surprising to see her pop up at least one more time.
