The Flash: 10 Characters Who Should Join Season 3

5. Doctor Polaris

The Flash Black Racer
DC Comics

A villain who suffers from split personality disorder, Doctor Polaris would make a great addition to The Flash.

Different people have taken on the Doctor Polaris moniker at certain points in comic book history, but it’s Doctor Neil Emerson who made for the most interesting take on the character. As Doc Emerson, all was relatively calm and logical, but once he transformed to Doctor Polaris then Emerson’s personality changed dramatically. Angry, confused and unstable, this bundle of magnetic mayhem is a villain not to be scoffed at.

Polaris’ main power, along with being straight-up crazy, is that he has the power of magnetism at his fingertips. Sure, he may often come off as a Magneto rip-off, but this rogue is somebody who has caused plenty of problems for the comic book Scarlet Speedster over the decades.

Given how The Flash likes to dish out its fair share of villains-of-the-week sorts, somebody like Polaris could fill that role perfectly. Similarly, though, he would also make a nice addition to the show in a multi-episode arc if needed.

What makes Doctor Polaris such a great fit is that he's such a flexible character that could allow the show to deliver a multi-episode arc, intense and unhinged villain. As well as this, his powers could lead to some great visuals as he goes up against Team Flash.
