The Flash: 7 Best Episodes So Far

Though he’d faced a few criminals so far, the introduction of Captain Cold to the Flash’s world in Going Rogue marked the first memorable villain he’d encountered. Wentworth Miller was deliciously evil and campy, staying entertaining while never reaching Mr. Freeze levels of stupidity.

Even without the great villain, the episode still had some awesome scenes. For one, we get to see Wells really mad for the first time, a sign of things to come down the road. Then there’s Cisco, who had to come to grips with the fact that the weapon he designed to stop Barry was now being used against him.

The Flash has always had effects better than we deserved to expect, but the slow motion train crash was one of the best we’d ever seen through the first four episodes and cemented the series’s place as a visual standout.

The Flash can hardly be expected to act like a serialized drama all the time and it’s going to have plenty of freak-of-the-week episodes. This is a perfect example of what those episodes should be like every time.
