The Flash: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

27. Marlize DeVoe

Flash Flashpoint
The CW

DeVoe's devoted wife, Marlize (a.k.a. The Mechanic), proved to be quite the compelling supporting character throughout her season-long run on the show, as the writers allowed us to see how she cared for him in his darkest of moments and nursed him back to health during his transition into The Thinker.

A perfect foil for Iris, the two strong women highlighted just how far they were willing to go in order to protect their husbands, but it was Mrs. West-Allen who ultimately made her see that Clifford's plan was no different than slavery. That right there primed the character for redemption - as she eventually aligned herself with Team Flash to help them take The Thinker down.

The thing about Marlize is that, although she was on the villain's side, she was never really a villain. Instead, she was just a woman who loved her husband too much to lose him and, in hindsight, deserved a lot more respect from him.
