The Flash: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

9. Eddie Thawne

Flash Flashpoint
The CW

Charismatic, easy on the eye and mildly arrogant; there were so many characteristics about Eddie Thawne that made us want to hate him, and yet it was impossible because he was just so darn lovable.

A beautiful plot device created simply to prevent Barry from opening up to Iris about his feelings, Eddie achieved his purpose to perfection, keeping the show's soon-to-be core couple apart. But he was almost too perfect, so there had to be something off about him that would finally make Iris see that she made a mistake, right?

Thankfully, the writers didn't take the bait and, despite his villainous descendent, there wasn't a bad bone in his body. He was a decent, determined police officer and an amazing boyfriend that would have undoubtedly made a wonderful husband to Iris one day - if he hadn't sacrificed himself to stop that villainous descendent from killing everyone.

The funny thing is that, upon finding out about his family's future, Eddie feared he would become obsolete, but given that we've spent the past four years missing him, it's safe to say that he was anything but that.

Michael Patterson is an experienced writer with an affinity for all things film and TV. He may or may not have spent his childhood obsessing over WWE.
