9. How Will Velocity-6 Affect Jay?
Away from the crossover happenings of this week, Wells and Caitlin stayed at STAR Labs in an effort to cure Barrys lingering speed problems. Their solution was to pursue Wellss failed Velocity formula, designed to artificially boost speed. With Caitlins help, he finishes the sixth version of the formula and Jay reluctantly tests it to save Wells, confirming that it works. The effects appear momentary, with him vibrating into Wells and removing the bullet before telling them shortly after that the speed has worn off. But this is an untested formula and theres bound to be side effects. The formula could be directly inspired by Velocity-9 in the comics, which was incidentally created by Vandal Savage. Worth noting is that the formula had strong negative effects on its users, draining life from them each time they use it. Jay's arc looks to be headed towards some sort of heroic redemption so could this really give him his powers back, or will Velocity-6 be the reason he doesnt stick around?
