The Flash Season 2: 10 Questions We're Asking After Family Of Rogues
5. What Next For Joe And Iris?
This episode was generally quite light, given it mostly concerned an abusive father, a robbery, murder, and a bomb being implanted in someone's head. Part of that was due to Captain Cold's presence, and the general happy tone of this show, while Patty managed to brighten things up in every scene she was in. But damn, that Joe and Iris scene was a blast with the cold gun straight to the feels. Joe knows he has to do the right thing and tell Iris the truth about her mother, and the way it plays out makes for really compelling viewing, as Joe breaks down over having lied, and Iris comes to terms with the fact her mother is actually alive. Jesse L. Martin is always great, so it shouldn't be taken lightly to say it's some of his best work on the show here, but it really is, and Candice Patton is excellent as well. There's no animosity between them, so where do they go from here? Is Iris going to meet her mother, and how exactly is that going to go down? Should we be expecting Francine West to be a regular feature in the West household in the near future?
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
