The Flash Season 2: 11 Big Questions We're Asking After The Mid-Season Premiere
8. Has She Figured Out Who The Flash Is?
Patty's decision to leave Central City comes after Barry isn't honest with her, and she almost gets herself killed. Twice. On both occasions, she's saved by the Flash. And both times it seems like she has no idea who he really is. Or does she? The second time featured a hug and the awkward line of "thank you...whoever you are." I mean, it was just so on the nose about the whole Barry keeping his secret thing that it was cringeworthy, but another way to look at it (and one that makes it less cringey, at least) is that she's just covering. She's a detective after all, so perhaps she's worked out that Barry is the Flash (and in fairness, she really should be able to piece it together after this episode), and that's the true reason she has decided to leave. Of course, what it all really boils down to is why Barry didn't just tell her? He'll tell the women he hardly knows and went on one date with, and pretty much anyone else who asks, but not his girlfriend things are getting increasingly serious with? That worked out really well.
