The Flash Season 2: 13 Big Questions We're Asking After 'The Darkness And The Light'
7. What Further Powers Will Barry Develop?
It initially seemed as though Jay Garrick would be the one to mentor Barry this year, and that was the case when the Earth Two Flash taught his Earth One counterpart how to create bolts of lightning from his speed. However, in this episode, it becomes apparent that there's not much left for Jay to teach Barry. Instead, his new mentor looks a lot like his old one. Harrison Wells pushes Barry during his fight with Doctor Light, and prompts him to develop a 'speed mirage'. This involves running so fast that he leaves duplicates of himself, thus confusing his enemy about which one is the real Flash. Like the lightning bolt, it was a cool new ability, and helps him go beyond just running really fast. These are two pretty big new powers, and we're only five episodes into Season 2. Just what others are we going to see over the rest of the year, and how awesome will they be if these are the ones we're starting out with?
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
