The Flash Season 2: 20 WTF Moments From 'Family Of Rogues'

9. The Drugs Don't Work

Whilst family matters in the Snart household are clearly in the toilet, things aren€™t all roses and rainbows for the Wests either. Following on from Joe trying to pay off his recently-turned up ex-Mrs, we find out just why the usually above board Detective West resorted to throwing a large wad of cash at a problem. In a bombshell moment, it€™s revealed that Iris€™ mother used to be a drug addict. Concerned for his daughter€™s welfare, Joe felt that he had no choice but to cover up Francine€™s issues over all of these years. Again, this was a move in which The Flash confronted some pretty serious issues for a show so often depicted as being merely about some really fast guy in a red suit saving the day.
