Whilst the explanation behind Hunter Zolomon taking on Jay Garrick’s name helped to redeem Jay, am I the only one who thought that it was just a tad convenient that in an alternative life Barry Allen’s father was a speedster of his own?

Many had speculated that the Man in the Iron Mask was going to be Henry Allen, and they were kind of right, just it was a Henry who still had his mother’s maiden name and who had been called Jay rather than Henry.

There’s no doubting that it was all kinds of cool to see the real Jay suit-up and even put on the iconic helmet, but overall this largely all felt far too convenient. Not everything has to be interlinked and tied together, such as Barry’s father’s doppelganger being The Flash of Earth-3.
