The Flash Season 2: 10 Things That Need To Happen Before The Mid-Season Break
10. Show What Happened To King Shark
Speaking of absolutely outrageous fan-pleasing moments, they don't come much more so than the appearance of King Shark. While viewers had already been treated to Grodd in Season 1, a spectacular feat of special effects, especially coming from a network show operating on a limited budget, it was assumed there'd be no way of topping that, save for the return of the gorilla himself. How wrong we were. There was a mention of a man-shark in The Fury of Firestorm, but it seemed as though it was just going to be a nice little Easter egg. Then, at the end of that episode, the character appeared, and almost took out Flash, only for him to be saved by Harrison Wells. It was super comic book-y, and absolutely fantastic to witness. There was, however, no resolution to his story, while there's also the notion that if this version was sent by Zoom, there's an Earth One King Shark out there as well. It's no doubt very expensive to do, but bringing him back for a cameo in the mid-season finale (those rumours of an appearance in the Flash/Arrow crossover have been shot down) would be worth every penny.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
