The Flash Season 3: 10 Big Questions That Must Be Answered
What surprises will Flashpoint bring?
Despite having a hero known for moving at ridiculous speeds, The Flash Season 3 feels like it's taking its sweet time getting here.
Then again, maybe that's not much of a surprise, because everything is going to be rather different on the show this year, which is precisely why there's so much excitement and anticipation for it getting here.
The second season made a few mistakes and, on the whole, wasn't as good as the first season (few debut years of comic book TV are, to be fair). However, it ended things on a major note, as Barry went back in time and, in a reversal of the events of the Season 1 finale, actually decided to go ahead and save his mother from death at the hands of Reverse-Flash.
Undoing not just that emotional moment, but essentially everything we've seen on the series, and the entirety of Barry Allen's life up until that point, it left us really going into the unknown for Season 3, with the Flashpoint Paradox looming large.
With that confirmed, along with a few other details leftover from Season 2, we've got a lot of questions that need to be answered when the show does eventually return in October.
10. How Much Will Flashpoint Change Things (And How Long Will It Last)?
In the comics, Flashpoint (which took place in 2011) was a major event that really shook up the DC universe. The root cause was the same as it is in the show, with Barry saving his mother, but the world was very different to what the show can feasibly accomplish: Thomas Wayne was Batman, Atlantis and Themyscira are at war, there's no Superman and so on.
Obviously the show won't be able to start throwing in a number of Justice League characters due to the upcoming movies, so we shouldn't expect any alt-takes on Batman or such like, so how else might things change.
We know from the Comic-Con trailer that Cisco will be a billionaire, and Barry didn't grow up with the Wests, but there should be a number of other surprises up the show's sleeve.
