The Flash Season 3: 10 Things You Need To Know About Kid Flash

8. Keeping Secrets

The Flash Wally West Kid Flash
DC Comics

Whilst every good hero needs to maintain a secret identity – well, unless you’re Tony Stark and clearly don’t give a sh*t – Barry Allen let down his guard and revealed his biggest secret to Wally West; that Barry was indeed Central City’s beloved Scarlet Speedster, The Flash.

At that point in time, the comic book Barry had only let one other person in on his secret: Iris West. So, for Barry to let Wally in on this huge revelation was a major thing, and instantly marked Wally out to fans as being someone of big importance.

Why did The Flash reveal his true identity to young Wally West, you may ask? Well, that’s because Wally was suddenly landed with his own superpowers in the form of his own superspeed. Deciding to take the young Wally under his wing, Barry thought it only right that he reveal to his new protégé just who was hiding under the red spandex.

The two would work together for years to come, but Wally would have an even bigger role to play down the line than just being merely The Flash’s faithful sidekick, Kid Flash.
