The Flash Season 3 Finale: 8 Big Questions We're Asking After 'Finish Line'

2. How (And When) Will Barry Return From Speed Force Heaven?

Now we come to the big talking point of the episode. Just when things seem to be looking up for Barry Allen, the Speed Force opens up in Central City, in need of a new victim. The hero that he is, Barry steps up to the plate, says goodbye to his loved ones and joins the 'ghost' of his mother as he steps into the Speed Force. For all intents and purposes, Barry Allen is dead.

Except, come on, let's not kid ourselves. There is no way this is the end for Grant Gustin on this show. The real question is, then, how and when he will return. Given the incredibly truncated Flashpoint arc of last year, we have a suspicion that Barry could find his way out of the Speed Force by the end of the season four premiere. Or at least by episode two.

But how will he come back? Well, this storyline heavily recalls a point in the comics when Wally West sacrificed himself to the Speed Force as well. On that occasion, Wally was drawn back to reality by his love for Linda Park, who acted as a his "lightning rod." What's the betting that Iris acts as Barry's "lightning rod" here?
