The Flash Season 5: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'All Doll'd Up'
2. The Focus On Caitlin And Cisco
While 'All Doll'd Up' was heavy on the West-Allen front, it also made quite a lot of time for the show's two most important supporting characters: Caitlin and Cisco.
After having his hand sliced by Cicada's blade near the beginning of the season, Cisco soon realised that he couldn't use his vibing abilities without suffering extreme pain. However, at the same time, Caitlin hit a dead end in her search for her missing-but-once-presumed-dead father. Thus, Cisco took it upon himself to help his friend by trying to vibe what happened to him. Eventually, it became too much and he passed out.
This led to an emotional scene between the pair where Caitlin reminded Cisco just how much he had done for Team Flash long before he discovered that he was a metahuman. In fact, this scene was partially responsible for inspiring him to commandeer the satellites and ultimately help Caitlin figure out her father's location. However, she wasn't quite ready to find out the truth.
The Flash is a well-oiled machine that simply wouldn't work without Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow. They have been at the emotional core of the show since the very beginning and are, quite frankly, overlooked too often. It was nice to see them sharing such genuine scenes together and reminding us that there is more going on in their lives than their positions at S.T.A.R. Labs, and this capped off by Carlos Valdes and Danielle Panabaker's moving performances.
