The Flash Season 5: 6 Major Questions We Have For The Second Half

3. Is Killer Frost The Key To Defeating Cicada?

Flash Season 5 Questions
The CW

The Flash's 100th episode dropped quite the bombshell when it revealed that Cicada's metahuman power-dampening dagger was ineffective on Killer Frost. That's right, Caitlin Snow's icy alter-ego is immune to the Big Bad's ultimate weapon - something she emphatically proved when she was able to transform into the ice queen and save her friends from him.

Her immunity stems from the fact that, while she has powers, Killer Frost wasn't created during the particle accelerator explosion. She was a side-effect to the ALS-curing cryogenic therapy Caitlin's father used on her when she was a child (just as the therapy created Thomas' alter-ego The Icicle). Therefore, she technically isn't a metahuman.

Frost's immunity is undoubtedly a huge victory for Team Flash, as it massively increases their chances of success against Cicada. We've all seen in the past just how effective she can be and, given how much screen-time she's getting this season, she will undoubtedly continue to play a major role going forward.

Without his dagger, Cicada really isn't all that and, if it doesn't affect Killer Frost, then she may be the key to defeating him once and for all.

Prepare yourself "cricket freak", Killer Frost wants to dance.
